Buckle up, its AP exam season. Once again, history repeats itself with too many ridiculous AP exam cheating scandals to count. From sneaking in an Ipad to pulling the fire alarm, here are the top _ craziest stories from the AP exams this year.
- A student in Arizona had his brother go in and take the AP Government exam for him. His brother wore a hat, glasses, and a hoodie for the first half of the exam until he was asked to take it all off halfway through. While he still made it through the entire exam without being detected, several students reported it afterward and the student is now under investigation by the school. While it is not uncommon to hire a lookalike for an AP exam, this student and his brother just did not look similar enough to succeed with their plan.
- A student in Florida hid a phone in the ceiling of the exam room during her AP statistics exam and set multiple alarms to go off during the exam. When these alarms went off, both proctors left the exam room to attempt to find where the alarms were coming from and subsequently most students in the exam room took the opportunity to talk to one another and cheat on the exam. The entire room had their exam scores cancelled.
- A student in Florida brought a thin Ipad to help her cheat on the AP literature exam. She had two tabs open on her Ipad, one of Chat GPT and one of a bluebook lookalike and she had a printed out picture of a keyboard on the back of her Ipad so she could flip it up and down when she needed it. However, halfway through the FRQ section of the exam, she was caught and had her Ipad and computer taken away and her exam score cancelled.
- A student in New York hid a phone in the bottom of her shoe to help her cheat on the AP biology exam. She sat in a kind of crisscross position so she could see the bottom of her shoe and when she felt like she would get caught she would just put her foot on the floor. But her plan backfired when her shoe squeezed all the buttons on the side of the phone and it talked out loud in the middle of the exam.
- A student in California faked anaphylactic shock to get out of his AP Chemistry exam. He got up in the middle of the exam and started coughing and then collapsed and had to be carried out of the exam. Two of his friends who were genuinely concerned about him got up and helped him but he later confessed to them that it was all fake and he and his friends had their scores cancelled. A similar situation happened in another state where a student tried to fake an allergy but held his breath so long that he actually passed out and was scared so he allowed emergency services to be called.
- A student in New Mexico got up in the middle of the AP US History exam and threw 12 water balloons at his classmates who had computer and electronic devices on their desks.
- A student in New York brought cookies laced with laxatives to his AP Calculus BC exam and handed them out during the break between sections. By the end of the exam, over half the exam room had run to the bathroom and the exam was cancelled.
- A student in Arizona pulled the fire alarm during the AP Literature exam, so the entire testing room had to evacuate. The students took advantage of this opportunity and one even brought a speaker, so the students had a mosh pit dance party outside while their exam was supposed to be going on. Several students made Tiktoks from this mosh pit and they all now have to attend the makeup exam.
