For one, working out can be as simple as taking a 5-minute walk every day at a comfortable pace. Every day, You will find yourself adding more minutes and steps to your walks. The benefits of walking can allow you to listen to a podcast, or music and simply enjoy the outdoors. Walking is especially significant to do after a meal or after a stressful day at school or work. It is an easy and free treatment to calm the body and the mind.
Secondly, the art of “Discipline”. It is difficult to commit to one thing and stick to it, yet daily exercise can teach you that. Discipline is what is necessary to make your practice effective. Simply writing in a journal or making a New Year’s resolution is not going to change anything. Not only will this prove your commitment to daily exercise, but also it can show your discipline in life. Discipline can be applied to anything you put your mind to.
Thirdly, nutrition and food intake is highly important to see progress physically, and mentally, and to improve your overall well-being. Many when first seeing the words “eating” and “healthy” together they begin to think they have to go on a diet or severely restrict their calorie intake. Many don’t realize that going on a calorie deficit or highly restrictive diet is honestly the opposite of healthy. Being healthy is simply just being more mindful of what you are putting in your body. Making sure that when eating you are getting the proper amount of protein, vitamins, and minerals. You could start off by just eating fast food or eating out only once a week rather than multiple times.
These little steps will eventually add up and allow you to design a healthy lifestyle of your choice. The more committed and experienced you are the more you will find yourself breaking away from just a 5-minute daily walk and instead running 3 miles a day.
