Giving Back Through Borsheims

This season is not just about receiving but also about giving. Most people find the holiday season to be the best time of the year. Stunning decorations, fun traditions, time with family and friends all make the holiday season so wonderful and widely celebrated. However, the best part of the holiday season for many kindhearted people out there is giving back.

The holiday season is the perfect time to give back, and there are so many fun ways to do so. A family tradition in my family is participating in the Weekend of Giving at Borsheims. This event is held on the last weekend in November and is a great way for families to go out and give. Every year Borsheims chooses a new charity to support during their Weekend of Giving. This year the supported charity is the Heartland Equine Therapeutic Riding Academy (HETRA), and giving back to this charity is made so easy through Borsheims. In the Borsheims store there is something that they call the “Giving Tree” and under the tree are little silver Borsheims boxes. In these boxes is a gift that Borsheims has donated to the tree. Each participating giver pays ten dollars that goes to the supported charity, and in turn, gets to pick out one of the silver boxes from under the tree for themselves. Not only does the money from the giving tree go back to these charities, but so does a portion of the weekend’s sales at Borsheims. During this Weekend Borsheims also invites their vendors to come set up a show or stand, and it’s a great place to find gifts for other members of your family.

The Weekend of Giving is a great way for all types of people to give back. The donation amount is accessible to all types of donors and truly helps the many. It’s such a fun and unique way to give back and experience the joy of the holiday season. The only hard part is walking past all the sparkling jewelry and not wanting to buy it all. I really encourage families and friends to get out and participate in giving this holiday season, especially through the Weekend of Giving.
