Christmas Cracker Toffee
Looking for the perfect holiday recipe to satisfy your sweet tooth? Cracker toffee is the perfect example of a delectable winter dessert. Everyone in your life is going to be begging you to make more. This recipe is a bit unconventional, but its ingredients are cheap and fulfilling.
Ingredients-
One sleeve of saltine crackers
2 sticks of butter
1 cup of brown sugar
2 cups (ish) of chopped chocolate bark
Any toppings you like. I prefer
Heath bits
Chopped pecans
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 300 degrees.
- Line a baking pan with around 30 saltine crackers, a single layer.
- Melt your butter and brown sugar in a pan on the stove. A candy thermometer would come in handy, bring to around 280 degrees.
- After your caramel mixture has boiled for around 2 minutes, pour it evenly over your saltine crackers.
- Bake for around 3 minutes, or until the candy gets hard.
- Melt your chocolate in the microwave or use a double boiler method.
- Spread over the caramel.
- Use any toppings you want, and make it look pretty with holiday sprinkles.
- Cool for 20 minutes in the refrigerator, then break into small pieces and serve.
