The BEST Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal
As the weather starts to get cooler, there is simply nothing better than waking up in the morning and enjoying a sweet, warm bowl of oatmeal. Below you will find the absolute best, and easiest recipe for fall breakfast…Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
2 apples
½ teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups water
1 cup rolled oats
¼ cup maple syrup
⅓ cup oat milk
Instructions:
- Chop the apples into bite size pieces.
- Place the apples into a saucepan and then add in the water and cinnamon. Bring the mixture to a boil, and cook the apples until they are tender. Then, scoop out the apples from the water, and set aside.
- Pour the oats into the saucepan with the water from cooking the apples, bring to a boil and then reduce cooking for a total of 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once the oatmeal is just about finished cooking add in the maple syrup, apples that you set aside, and oat milk. Stir to combine.
- Serve warm with more oat milk if desired.
Ellie’s Notes:
- You can use whatever type of apples you have, however I prefer Honeycrisp.
- Any type of milk works, but oat milk will give the dish a better texture, in my opinion.
- I love to top it off with chopped walnuts, and a sprinkle of cinnamon!
