Boys Basketball

It has been an up and down year for the boys basketball team, although they have a couple big wins under their belts. A big win over ranked Lincoln Pius X gave the team a boost midway through the season to finish their campaign strong.

“I am most proud of this season because of our players ability to keep working to get better despite coming up short in close games” said coach Nolan Reilly. The ability to keep moving forward and getting better is something I will remember about this year’s team.”

Senior Zach Lafave has been the team’s leading scorer throughout the season and is currently committed to Wayne State. Max Mosser and Cole Peterson are two pieces who will also be leaving the Storm next year to go off to college who have spent four years with the program.

“Although our record doesn’t reflect it, we go out and give teams a run for their money with how hard we play” said senior Zach Lafave. “Our win against Pius X was one of the proudest moments of my career by the resilience and strength our team showed.”

Tate Odvody has proved to be a breakout star for the Storm as during the later half of the year, his numbers have been fairly impressive. As only a freshman, he will look to be a staple of this Elkhorn South team for the rest of his high school career.

“We have improved a ton over the course of the year and I am very proud of the progress our team has made,” coach Reilly said. “The future will continue to get brighter for this young group of boys.”

Elkhorn South will look to grow and build upon their young core as they attempt to remain a sneaky team in Class A basketball.
