Around 18.3 million flights occur every year. It was 38.9 million before covid, but there are now more people being cautious of traveling. There are so many people that travel by airlines, so plane crashes are not really known. Recently, though, there have been an abnormal number of plane crashes, worrying people.
It started January 29, when the airline flight 5342 crashed into an army Black Hawk helicopter in Washington, D.C. It killed everyone on each plane. It was the first commercial airline crash on U.S. soil since 2009. It was sad to know they were about to get on the runway and have a safe flight. Well, that wasn’t the case here. This caught people’s eyes because of how rare these cases happen. It didn’t stop there.
On February 6th, a plane crashed in Alaska, killing 10 people. The crash occurred about 34 miles southeast of Nome. In 4 days, another jet was involved in a collision. One person was killed when a jet collided into a parked plane in Arizona.
On February 17th, a Delta jet crash landed in Toronto and flipped over. It was a flight from Minneapolis and it burst into flames. Luckily, no one died. This crash wasn’t the worst of the ones that have already happened this year. There have been more this year.
These crashes not only put a burden on the people that were in the crash, but also it puts a burden on the people who travel, which is a good chunk of our population. These crashes are making people worried, and many are posting online saying what has 2025 brought to us.
These crashes are a sign to be careful when traveling. We need to prepare for the worst because it could end up like these crashes above and the numerous others.
